Convert slides to a company template

Brand teams usually do not want a pixel-perfect clone of someone’s old deck. They want the same story on the company master: the right title style, the right bullets, the logo that lives on the master, and colours that match the theme instead of whatever was picked from the colour picker in 2019. Converting slides to a company template is that translation.

A checklist before you convert

  1. Get the official template file, not a deck that “sort of” uses the colours. If the master is wrong, every converted slide will be wrong in the same way.
  2. Name the story slides in your head. Opening, a section break, a list, a picture, a table. SlideFit classifies each slide the same way. If your opening slide is actually a wall of bullets, it will be treated as a content slide, which is what you want.
  3. Know the free cutoff. The first 5 slides, plus a watermark slide. Convert a chapter first if you are checking the template. $5 then unlocks unlimited conversions for 24 hours in this browser, and that window is not tied to the file bytes.
  4. Leave charts for a second pass. Export is honest about skipping them. The title still comes across so you know where the chart belonged.

Run it

On the SlideFit page, the left file is the content and the right file is the company template. Fit, read the preview, download. Open the result and confirm three things: the master chrome is present (logo or bar), a bullet slide uses the template typeface, and a title slide uses the title layout rather than a body layout.

The repo includes two files so you can do this with no private deck:

The buttons “Use the Northwind sample” and “Use the Harbor template” load those files from this site. They are ordinary pptx files. You can also download them from the repository and open them in PowerPoint to compare before and after.

Hand the file back

Send the new pptx, not a PDF, if people still need to edit. Because the slides are real placeholders on the company layouts, the next person can change a layout in the master and the deck follows. That is the difference between a converted deck and a deck that was screenshotted onto brand-coloured rectangles.

If a table’s header row should use a specific brand style, the generated table already uses the theme’s accent colour for the header and the theme text colour for the body. You can restyle one table and duplicate that style; you should not need to retype the cells.
